Changing or modifying the NAT type on AT&T hotspot is a simple process that can be done accurately if the following methods are followed:

ENABLE PORT FORWARDING

This method can be done on any device. Go to the AT&T website, access the settings, and change the NAT type specified already. Once you modify the NAT type, the revamped settings will be applied to all linked devices. After signing up for the internet subscription, log in with your Username and Password on the AT&T website. Locate the “Port Forwarding” option and apply appropriate communication ports for your game. You will be able to connect easily with other users and there will be no delay in the user’s actions.

ENABLE UPnP

UPnP, short for Universal Plug and Play, allows your router to automatically open port forwarding. The user needs to enable UPnP in order to open NAT on a mobile hotspot. Once the device in use has a static IP address, this feature can be easily accessed.

USE NETWORK DISCOVERY

Making changes in the Network Settings could be one solution for how to change NAT type on the AT&T hotspot. In the WiFi settings, go to the Advanced Sharing settings. Enable automated device configuration for network-connected devices. This setting will fix any NAT issues the user faces during the gaming session.

MODIFY THE ROUTER’S CONFIGURATION

The user can modify the router settings and the NAT type by accessing the router’s interface. Search for the “Save or Restore Configuration” option among other available options and save the current configuration file on your PC. Open the file and search for the final bind. Look for the port numbers and enter the ports used in your game and save the settings. This modified configuration can be used for future networking.

CONCLUSION

Now you know how to easily alter or modify the NAT type on the AT&T hotspot of your device. This will give you a better interface to host gaming sessions and to connect with other players easily.
