Why and How to Turn Off Xfinity WiFi at Night

WiFi is a convenient solution to all the data needs, for the entire family to be precise. It allows you the luxury of smooth connectivity and an even connection throughout your home. However, like with all conveniences, this also has some downsides.

Let us list out a few problems of too good WiFi connection:

  1. To get better, and more amount, of sleep;

  2. To save data, which in turn reduces traffic, and in turn the carbon footprint;

  3. To save electricity; and

  4. To reduce the number of electromagnetic waves.

Now to turn off your router manually in the old-fashioned plugging-off way might be a bit messy. Moreover, there is also the issue of turning it on and the everlasting (seems like it) start up time.

What if we told you there is a way to set a timer for your router to automatically deactivate? How to do it, well here we go:

Login as administrator of your device on the IP address of your modem or router, this can be found on the back of your device;

Once you are in, click on the button that says Select a Device or Computer;

This would allow you to set a specific time for a particular device to have access to the Internet;

Now you have to select a device and check on the box that says “Add”;

In the next option, you have to set the duration for the internet to be blocked and the days on which you want to do so; and then

When you’re happy with the changes, click on “Apply” to activate the changes.

Conclusion -

As you can see, there exists an extremely easy way to turn off xfinity WiFi at night. It might seem a bit of a drag when you have to do it, but in the long run, it will save a lot of data, and certainly, your valuable time.
